CODEPINK South
Florida Mothers' Day Stroll

We had 50 people participate in
our Mother's Peace Day in the Park.
First we gathered and had a pink picnic in the park with plenty of pink
food. Between bites we protested on the corner. We read the Mother's
Day Proclamation, Letters to Laura Bush and Poems- then the Raging
Grannies
sang songs of Protest. The group paraded along Atlantic Avenue in
Downtown
Delray Beach passing out Leaflets and Pink Beads with attached wishes
of Peace for Mother's Day, and our website address. Atlantic Avenue is
lined with outdoor cafés, so it was a wonderful opportunity for
visibility! We concluded with a Candlelight Vigil where
we read the 104 names of the soldiers from Florida who have perished in
this war and we sang songs of peace. It was a great Public Outreach
event
and we signed up many new members.
